Paul Voaden’s family has been providing good quality cars for over 60 years now. His father, Reg, was a popular and trustworthy garage owner in the village of Broadclyst just outside Exeter.

Paul carried on in his father’s tradition and opened Ideal 1st Car in Broadclyst in 1997. The Ideal 1st Car reputation for providing high quality, low insurance group cars for first time buyers proved so strong that the business quickly out-grew Broadclyst.

The secret behind having happy customers is that Paul takes care to listen to the needs of his clients, and gives careful, helpful advice. The cars he offers have been carefully selected to be high quality, reliable and yet affordable for the first time buyer. All the Ideal 1st Cars go through the workshops for special attention, where they are serviced and MOT’d. They are then sold with a comprehensive parts and labour warranty, so you know you have a car you can rely on. Funding can be arranged through a number of reputable finance companies at competitive rates.

The business is now based in Marsh Barton, and has expanded into supplying cars for all of the family, i.e. hatchbacks and estates. Paul still provides a helpful friendly service, and welcomes anyone dropping in for advice or a friendly chat.
